Frequently Asked Questions

???? YOU WANTED TO KNOW ????

Q         Where can I find information about the solar panels. I've been looking all over your navigation bar for solar panels and I can find everything but your product list.

A          Click on "Site Map" on the left-hand side of each page and you'll find "Products" listed there in red, click on this for a complete list of our products and their descriptions. For a general description of our solar panels click on the second line of the navigation chart at the left side of each page.

Q          What types of batteries can I charge with your brand of solar panels?

You can charge all types of 12 volt batteries with the solar panels we sell, including automotive lead acid, extended duty deep cycle RV and industrial batteries. Gel Cells and heavy duty (stationary types).

Q           How long will it take to charge my RV battery?

A           That will depend on a number of factors, what type of battery is it, how far discharged is your battery, what size and type of solar panel are you using, is your solar panel aimed directly at the sun, how bright is the sun etc.

Q            Why do you recommend the use of a charge controller?

A             Charge controllers are designed to be connected between your battery and your solar panel (battery charger) to protect your battery from over charge damage.

Q             How does my charge controller work to protect my battery?

A             When your charge controller senses that your battery has been returned to a fully charged condition it automatically reduces the amount of electricity being delivered to your battery to a maintenance level rather than the full charging level.

Q             Will I need to disconnect my solar panel at night or when it is in the dark to keep from discharging my battery?

A             No, all of our solar panels are equipped with a diode (like a one way valve) that prevents there being any reverse power.

Q             Can I leave my solar panel outside in the weather or do I need to bring it in when it rains or snows?

A             All of our solar panels are fully weatherproofed and designed to operate under almost all weather conditions.

Q             Will I need to provide special mountings for my solar panel or can it be mounted directly to the roof of my RV?

A              Most solar panels either come with mounting hardware or are mountable to any flat surface.

Q              Will I have to disconnect my solar panel from my battery when I drive my RV or use my generator to charge my battery?

A              No, all our solar panels are designed to be permanently connected to your vehicle's electrical system and will not be harmed when alternate charging systems are used.
